We have been home for 2 days after 39 days in the hospital. Yay!!
So good to be home. We just met our new oncology team in Ventura. Jay's numbers are still low which means his immune system is also low. If his numbers go up on Monday he can start phase 2 of treatment called consolidation on Tuesday. Phase 2 is very intense. He is losing his hair slowly. All the doctors and nurses can't believe he has as much as he does. He had a lot to start with. The Ojai Valley Lions Club and community are hosting a fundraiser to help support our family. We hope you are able to attend this fun event that will have music, carnival games, delicious food, silent auction and raffle. Learn more here. We are so thankful for all the support and prayers. Feeling the LOVE sure makes this easier. |

On April 1st our world was turned upside down. Jayden and I were told he had leukemia from his doctor. That they would drive us to and have a room waiting at county hospital. From there we would be airlifted to the ICU Children's Hospital in Los Angeles where a team was waiting for us. Upon arrival they were hooking him up to machines and working on him. His white blood cell count was at 1.1 million (normal is 10k) he has had MRI, blood transfusions, a pic line put in, leukapheresis, lumbar punctures, and cat-scan to name a few. They thought he had a stroke at one point. With all this came the diagnosis of High Risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL.) We are at a great hospital and will be here for at least one more month. Jayden is such a strong kid and has done amazing. Our family, friends, Ojai Valley Lions family, Our OVLL baseball family, Sunset School, horse family and all around community have been so great to our family. We so appreciate the Love, prayers, cards, gifts and people reaching out. We cannot tell you how beyond grateful we are. People asking what can they do. This is going to be a long road probably 3 years or .... Please continue to pray for Jayden and our family.
Cards are welcome. Please send to:
